How to Address a Flat Tire on Your Rental RV
A flat tire can be stressful, but following these steps will help you resolve the issue quickly and safely.
1. Move to a Safe Location
- Slow down and pull over: As soon as you realize there’s a tire issue, reduce your speed and carefully pull off the road.
- Turn on hazard lights: This alerts other drivers that you’re having a problem and makes your RV more visible.
2. Determine Who to Call
- If you rented directly through us:
- Call us at 512-294-2634 (option 2).
- Let us know your exact location (address or mile marker), and we’ll arrange for Roadside Assistance to get to you as soon as possible.
- If you rented through a third-party platform (RVshare or Outdoorsy):
- Contact RVshare or Outdoorsy directly.
- These platforms typically provide their own roadside assistance coverage. They will guide you on the next steps and handle any claims under their policy.
3. Gather Essential Details
- Note your location: Write down your address, highway exit, or mile marker.
- Observe the damage: If it’s safe, take photos of the flat tire or any visible RV damage—these can be helpful if you need to file a claim.
- Follow instructions: Whether you’ve contacted us or a third-party, follow any directions given by Roadside Assistance.
4. Reminder of Our Tire Policy
- As stated in our Terms and Conditions, renters are responsible for tire care and any necessary repair or replacement costs if the tire damage is not covered by additional insurance. For further details, please refer to your rental agreement or contact us (if rented directly).
- If you rented via RVshare or Outdoorsy, please check their policies regarding tire coverage and potential reimbursement.
